Mr. Curtis began his career as a registered nurse at Memorial Medical Center in 1975. He went on to hold management and administrative positions in the medical center from 1979 to 1993, when he was named senior vice president and chief operating officer, providing senior-level administrative leadership for the overall direction, operations and coordination of the hospital. From 1994-1998, Mr. Curtis served as executive vice president and chief operating officer, providing administrative leadership for the overall direction, coordination and delivery of patient care services and all other operations for Memorial Health System's six affiliates.
In addition to his service to Memorial, Mr. Curtis served on the Springfield Urban League board from 2001-2009 and the Central Illinois Foodbank board from 2000-2010. He was also on the board of the United Way of Central Illinois for six years. He is a member of the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce Q5 Leadership Council and Strategic Leadership Council. Mr. Curtis is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, and serves on the boards of the Illinois Hospital Association and Voluntary Hospitals of America (VHA) Mid-America. |

Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Memorial Health System
Doug Rahn, DBA, FACHE
Doug Rahn became senior vice president and chief operating officer of Memorial Health System on Jan. 1, 2008.
Mr. Rahn previously served as the health system's vice president of operations since June 2007. He joined Memorial in June 2006 when he was named vice president of post-acute care. He previously served as senior vice president and chief operating officer of Leesburg Regional Medical Center in Florida for six years. He had also served as chief executive officer at two other acute care hospitals in Coldwater and Watervliet, Mich.

Mr. Rahn has a doctorate in business administration from Nova Southeastern University. He holds a master of business administration degree from Illinois State University and a bachelor's degree in healthcare management from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.
Mr. Rahn is active in community affairs and serves on the Springfield Greater Area Chamber of Commerce Board. He has experience working with United Way, the American Heart Association, Rotary, and professional organizations including the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Academy of Management. |

Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, Memorial Health System
Rajesh G. Govindaiah, MD
Dr. Govindaiah became the health system's senior vice president and chief medical officer on May 1, 2010.
He is responsible for administrative and clinical leadership and coordination for the health system's medical staff, graduate medical education and physician alignment activities. He will collaborate with physicians, residents and the administrative/clinical staffs of all health system affiliates to streamline operating systems. He also oversees activities focused on improving patient outcomes and supporting the health system mission to improve the health of the people and communities we serve.

A 2000 graduate of the University of Michigan Medical School, Dr. Govindaiah completed his internal medicine residency at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor in 2005. He joined Springfield Clinic in 2006 and served there as Chairman of the Department of Hospital Medicine. Prior to that, he participated in similar clinical activities at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor.
Dr. Govindaiah has been actively involved in many quality initiatives at Memorial Medical Center, including the Glycemic Control Mentored Implementation Program; the Physician Information Technology Advisory, Clinical Performance, Medical Record and Utilization Management Committees; Mortality Review conferences and daily multidisciplinary patient rounds. |

Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer, Memorial Health System
Marsha Prater, Ph.D., R.N., NEA-BC, FACHE
Dr. Prater brings over 28 years of nursing and leadership experience to Memorial Health System. As senior vice president of patient care services, Dr. Prater oversees the integration of the philosophy, goals, and objectives of Memorial Health System into the daily operations of the patient care delivery system across the continuum of care.
Dr. Prater also holds adjunct faculty positions at Mennonite College of Nursing at Illinois State University, Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville (SIUE) School of Nursing and SIU School of Medicine.

She has been with Memorial since 1990, initially serving as the administrator for Oncology Services until assuming her current role. Prior to coming to Memorial, Dr. Prater was an assistant professor of surgery and a staff nurse at SIU School of Medicine.
Dr. Prater received her bachelor's degree from Illinois Wesleyan University School of Nursing.
She obtained her master's and doctorate degrees from Southern Illinois University. She is a fellow in the
American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) and holds ANCC certification as a nurse executive advanced-board certified (NEA-BC). She is also a member of several professional nursing and healthcare leadership organizations.
