It has been an exciting and gratifying year at Taylorville Memorial Hospital.
Exciting because of the opening of the Outpatient Services Center containing our new surgery, radiology and emergency departments. Gratifying because these outstanding facilities allow us to better pursue our mission of improving the health of the people and communities we serve.
The completion of East Wilson Street allows for a quick and safe connection from Webster Street (Route 29) to the hospital’s new front door. Construction of a helipad, funded by the TMH Auxiliary and TMH Foundation, was completed in close proximity to the new Emergency Department entrance. This helipad provides safe and efficient transport of patients requiring helicopter transports.
The addition of a high-field strength (3.0 Tesla) MRI unit introduced tremendous imaging advancements at TMH. The in-house availability of MRI services has enhanced patient and physician service. Also, three new operating suites provide the latest technology to support a growing number of surgical procedures being performed at TMH.
During early 2011, Taylorville Memorial Hospital received a full three-year reaccreditation from The Joint Commission and a full two-year Laboratory reaccreditation.
A continued emphasis on creating great patient experiences will continue during 2012 while we maintain our efforts to make TMH a great place to work and continue to create great results.
