SCRUBS is a unique program that began in April 2006 by Friends of Memorial Health System and is designed to give eighth-grade students an introduction to healthcare careers. The program provides hands-on activity and exposure to several health occupations in a fast-paced, interactive atmosphere. Typically, students rotate between six stations and are introduced to a variety of professions like respiratory therapy, physical and occupational therapy, laboratory medicine, nursing, radiology and food and nutrition.
The program, known as "SCRUBS" (Skills Centers Representing Unique Benefits for Students), is conducted twice a year in the spring and fall. To date, nearly 300 students have enjoyed the opportunity to participate. If your school is interested in participating in a SCRUBS event, please complete the fields below and a representative from the Friends committee will be in touch!
